Ultrapen LA Injection
Ultrapen LA is a white/off-white suspension for parenteral administration containing procaine penicillin 300mg/mL in a long-acting, oily base for injection. For the treatment of infections caused by, or associated with, organisms sensitive to penicillin in cattle and pigs. Treatment and control of a wide range of common systemic, respiratory and local infections.

Indications
This product is for the treatment of infections caused by, or associated with, organisms sensitive to penicillin in cattle and pigs. Treatment and control of a wide range of common systemic, respiratory and local infections.

Dosage
Shake vial before use. Administer by intramuscular injection in cattle and pigs and also subcutaneous injection in non-lactating cattle. The recommended dose is 1mL/15kg equivalent to 20mg procaine penicillin/kg bodyweight. If signs persist for 72 hours, repeat the dose. Specially formulated to provide sustained antibacterial activity following a single administration.

Prudent Use Statement
Penicillin G Procaine is an antibiotic in the penicillin family and is considered highly important to human and animal health. The use of this antibiotic should only be for the minimum period needed to meet the clinical objective. Clinical response to this antibiotic should be monitored during treatment, and choice of therapy reviewed if clinical signs of disease persist, increase, or relapse. In the event of treatment failure, culture and sensitivity should be considered to determine an appropriate alternative therapy. Indiscriminate use of this antibiotic can contribute to the development of antibiotic resistance.
