Loxicom LA Injection
Loxicom LA contains meloxicam 20mg/mL in a clear, yellow solution for injection into cattle and pigs. A non-steroidal anti-inflammatory analgesic – antipyretic for use in cattle and pigs. Treatment of acute respiratory infection and diarrhoea in combination with appropriate antibiotic therapy in calves and young cattle. Treatment of mastitis, in combination with appropriate antibiotic therapy, in lactating cows. Control of pain after the removal of horns, particularly calf 'dis-budding' by heat cauterisation. Treatment of acute non-infectious locomotor disorders in pigs and, when used in combination with appropriate antibiotic therapy, for the treatment of puerperal septicaemia and toxaemia (mastitis-metritis-agalactia syndrome) in sows.

Indications

Dosage
Cattle: For single use only. Administer 0.5mg meloxicam/kg equivalent to 2.5mL/100kg bodyweight by subcutaneous or intravenous injection. To be used in combination with antibiotics when required. Calf 'dis-budding' by heat cauterisation: Administer 10 minutes before initiating the procedure. Accompany with corneal nerve block anaesthesia. Pigs: Administer a single intramuscular injection of 0.4mg meloxicam/kg equivalent to 2mL/100kg bodyweight into the anterior half of neck. If required, repeat once after 24 hours. Can be used in lactating sows. To be used in combination with antibiotics when required.
