Ceprotect Dry Cow

A long acting intramammary containing cephalonium, a semi-synthetic cephalosporin antibiotic. It is formulated to give effective antibiotic levels in the non-lactating udder against Staphlococcal and Streptococcal infections for up to 10 weeks and E.coli infections for up to 4 weeks. Reduces new infections at drying off and in the dry period. Treats subclinical mastitis that may be present at drying off. Helps reduce somatic cell count (SCC) and mastitis in the subsequent lactation.

    Each single dose 3g syringe contains 250mg cephalonium in a long-acting base.

  • Indications

    Ceprotect DC at drying off reduces new infections at drying off and in the dry period. Treats subclinical mastitis that may be present at drying off. Also helps reduce somatic cell counts (SCC) and mastitis in the subsequent lactation. Ceprotect DC is a broad spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic which has a bactericidal activity against the majority of organisms associated with bovine mastitis.

  • Dosage

    Prior to infusing Ceprotect DC clean and disinfect the teat. The contents of one syringe should be infused into the teat canal of each quarter immediately after the last milking of the lactation. Infuse one syringe of Ceprotect DC into each quarter then teat dip or spray the teat. Wear rubber gloves when infusing this treatment.
