Norbrook Publishes Inaugural Sustainability Report To Showcase Commitment To Ethical Practices And Community Impact
Newry, 16 January 2025: Norbrook Holdings Ltd has released its first-ever Sustainability Report, marking a significant step in its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) journey and commitment to ethical business practices. This Report underscores the company’s commitment to creating positive environmental and community impacts, while supporting customers with innovative and sustainable solutions.
The Sustainability Report highlights Norbrook’s recycling of 98% of its waste, with a mere 2% being non-recyclable. One ground-breaking process to manage the non-recyclable waste transforms non-recyclable materials into solid recovered fuel (SRF), which is used by the cement industry as a cleaner alternative to traditional fossil fuels, thereby reducing landfill use and methane emissions and lowering the demand for oil, coal and gas. The cumulative effect of greener energy transition efforts since 2016 have led to a 63% decline in carbon emissions.
In the local community, Norbrook’s We Care Christmas programme has become a cherished tradition, with 450 employees donating 2,400 hours to spread holiday cheer in the region by delivering food and toy hampers to over 1,000 families and 1,250 meals to vulnerable groups. Internationally, Norbrook continues to support upcoming veterinarians in Kenya and Uganda to pave the way for healthier animals and stronger communities in the future.
Shane Relihan, Chief Operating Officer of Norbrook said, “The Sustainability Report is a reflection of our values and showcases our long-term commitment to conducting our business in a way that will endure for generations to come. Our employees want to work for a company that is committed to doing the right thing. For Norbrook’s customers and partners, this means having greater confidence in our impact and knowing that our commitment to quality and excellence doesn’t happen at the expense of ethical practices. This Report is more than a milestone for us, it’s a promise to our stakeholders that we will always choose to do the right thing.”
With this Report, Norbrook aims to set benchmarks for the industry, continuously improving its environmental and social practices and fostering strong partnerships with communities and customers worldwide. To explore Norbrook’s full CSR journey, read the report here.
