Specialist veterinary advice available at Norbrook’s Royal Highland Show stand
Livestock and equine breeders attending this year’s Royal Highland Show will have the chance to talk one-on-one with Norbrook’s team about large animal health management and disease prevention.
Douglas Palmer is just one of Norbrook’s veterinary advisors who will be on hand to give out technical advice at Avenue O, Stand 570 at the show, taking place at Edinburgh’s Royal Highland Centre from 22nd to 25th June.
Chris Geddes, Marketing Manager at Norbrook, said the show provides an excellent opportunity for producers to interact and share expertise with veterinary professionals and industry leaders.
“The show attracts many reputable breeders of pedigree sheep, cattle and horses and we are delighted to be able to share our insights into the latest research and preventative treatments.
“Douglas and the rest of the Norbrook team will be on stand to welcome any general queries about production efficiency and health management and to provide more specific information about Norbrook products, dosing methods and best practice approaches to parasite control.”
Dr. Geddes explained that parasite control is an area that will have been uppermost in livestock producers’ minds over the past few weeks, because of the unseasonable weather conditions:
“June’s heavy rainfall has been favourable for parasite proliferation as well as creating the perfect environment for the mud snail. This is likely to have increased the risk of fluke infections, which may present later in the season. It is therefore likely that farmers will be interested in discussing the implementation of short and long-term fluke control plans, and associated dosing methods.”
“Inaccurate dosing can result in treatment failure, so we work with the industry on an ongoing basis to promote responsible dosing – this machine helps provide accurate weights to ensure correct dosing in a welfare-friendly operation.”
Entrants can fill out a competition form at Norbrook’s stand, where the company will also be showcasing a broad range of products across species, including spot-on treatment Spotinor, oral drench Solantel and pour-on solutions Closamectin and Eprizero.
